Consistent metric definitions
Across branches, key metrics such as average class size and attendance rate need one rigorous, shared calculation, so head office and branches never work from different numbers.
JoinX built an operations system for 驊曖體育, a yoga studio chain, connecting head office, branches and instructors through a back office, a web front end and iOS and Android apps. Class booking, check-in and attendance all happen in the system, and class performance at each branch is calculated by the system and shown on dashboards instead of being tallied by hand. We began working together in June 2020 and have kept releasing new versions as operations required. An ongoing maintenance contract has been in place since 2025; over six years in, the system is on version nine.

Background
驊曖體育 runs a chain of yoga studios with multiple branches, a wide range of classes and many instructors. Before the system, classes, attendance and performance at each branch were mostly tallied by hand, which made management costly and left the figures out of date. 驊曖體育 asked JoinX to build an operations system combining a back office, a web front end and iOS and Android apps, designed around how its studios run. It handles class booking and studio check-in and shows how each branch and instructor is doing, so managers can plan classes and allocate resources based on actual figures. JoinX began development in June 2020 and has kept releasing new versions as operations required: version six from October 2024, discount codes added in version seven, version eight in September 2025 and version nine in June 2026. An ongoing maintenance contract has been in place since 2025, so JoinX also looks after the system after each release.

Challenges
Building a multi-branch management system, we first worked through how data is defined and how people would use it:
01
Across branches, key metrics such as average class size and attendance rate need one rigorous, shared calculation, so head office and branches never work from different numbers.
02
The system serves both head office and branches, and instructors, the front desk and members need to see the same data. Each role should see what it needs in the same interface without clutter. Member records are personal data, so access rights and retention had to be planned in line with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act.
03
Most administrative and management staff are not technical, so the system had to be intuitive enough to use without lengthy training.
Solutions
We took a modular architecture and visual decision-making approach, then added features release by release as operations required:

Classes, instructors, branches and statistics are separate modules, which makes maintenance easier. Because studio rules change as the business evolves, the modular design lets the system keep evolving and leaves room for new service types or locations.
Managers can switch between instructor, branch and class views to see key operating metrics at a glance and compare how branches are performing.
Clear calculation rules are documented inside the system, cutting internal back-and-forth and making the figures more credible in decision meetings.
The system goes beyond listing data to emphasise comparisons and trends, using charts to help managers decide where resources should go first.
Tech stack
The back office, web front end and apps share one set of data, keeping all three in sync:
01
A stable mobile experience for members and instructors. iOS is built natively in Swift and Android in Kotlin, making full use of each device.
02
A consistent, intuitive management back office across devices. Built as a Vue.js single page application (SPA) for smooth page transitions and real-time data, helping managers handle complex scheduling and operations.
03
The data core is built in PHP. It handles large volumes of member data and calculates the high-frequency booking credit deduction logic precisely, keeping credit and class data accurate.
Impact
Since we began working together in 2020, the system has supported 驊曖體育's day-to-day operations:
Class booking, credit deduction, check-in and attendance all run in the system, and automated statistics replaced manual reconciliation and report preparation, letting the admin team focus on members.
Attendance and class popularity figures guide adjustments to classes and peak time slots, so class planning rests on actual data.
We began in June 2020 and have kept updating the system as operations required: discount codes in version seven, version eight in September 2025 and version nine in June 2026. Through years of releases the architecture has stayed stable, and with an ongoing maintenance contract since 2025, the same team handles development and maintenance, so new operational needs go straight into the next release.
